Make A Living Selling Golf Clubs On eBay

Ever consider quitting your job and working from home? Well, a local couple has done just that and it has paid off for them.
Instead of working a 9 to 5 job, Daniel Porter and wife April, stay at home with their three young daughters and work from their computer selling on eBay, specializing in golf clubs.
“eBay selling allows much more time with my family; it’s the reason why we like it so much,” said Daniel. “It’s not hard to do either; you just need someone who knows how to work a computer.”
“The pictures are the most important part,” said April. When purchasing items online the only reference a buyer has to the product is the description and pictures provided.
Although an eBay selling business may sound really easy, there are some things to consider before quitting your day job.
“The hardest part is trying to find enough things to sell,” said April. To find their supplies the Porters frequent golf conventions held around the South, even going as far away as Texas.
Thinking about specializing is not a bad idea either, according to Daniel, who said knock offs in the golf industry are prevalent and requiring a trained eye to distinguish between a fake and a genuine. “I would recommend it to anyone, but you need to specialize in something and know the product well. You have to know when you purchase something that it will sell.”
Another thing to consider when deciding to sell on eBay is shipping.
“I make daily trips to the post office to ship sold items, sometimes I even make multiple trips in a day, just to ensure the items get there quickly. The shipping speed is real important,” Daniel said.
The benefits of selling online have outweighed any negatives, said Daniel. “It allows me a lot of free time and its fun too.”
