5 Geeky Ways To Make Money That You’ve Never Heard Of
Jun 12
I have put together a quick list of 5 ways to make money that could actually work but are just a little geeky. Enjoy
1. Wii On Wheels
If you haven’t played a Nintendo Wii you’re really missing out. It has really cool wireless controllers that let you play games like bowling and tennis where you do the full motion in the game as if you were actually playing the sport.
Imagine having a Wii on a cart with wheels and hooked up to a TV screen that you could put in front of a mall or movie theater and charge people to play the game. Everyone passing by would wonder what all the commotion is and would, in return, bring you more customers. Fascinating idea, I’m sure you could make it work!
2. DailyHundred.com
I don’t really want to share this idea, but I don’t think I will ever get it started…so I hope somebody chooses to make money with this someday. The domain name is even available!
Create a website that gives away $100 everyday to one lucky person who can –let’s say– be the first to answer 10 trivia questions correctly. The fact that you’re giving away $100 everyday will draw in tons of traffic thus giving you the means to sustain your site with advertising revenue. Your homepage would have many ad spots (around 30 or more) for $200 dollars a month so that every time an advertiser buys an ad you can give away half of that money to the lucky winner.
3. Pocketbike Racing
This would be a very inexpensive way to start a business that could be very successful and earn a lot of local media attention.
Pocketbikes are like miniature motorcycles intended for kids. My idea is to use these bikes for a fun and entertaining venue for all ages. I’m 6 foot 7 and look really funny on a little pocketbike. Imagine having a drag race with your friends on one of these things. This would be extremely fun! You could even offer it for free and make money from a concession stand selling snacks and drinks.
4. YouTube Theater
Start a video theater that projects a bunch of YouTube videos on a screen that are chosen by the viewers. When people come into your theater they can text in (with their cell phone) a video to be played on the big screen. This would attract a lot of people wanting to share favorite videos with their friends and families.
5. Segway Extreme Course
Create a place where people can not only experience a Segway (personal human transporter) but also push it to it’s limits. Set up a course with ramps, hills, turns, curbs and other various obstacles that would bring out the geeky extremist in all of us.
